Jean Patou was a French designer born on 1887 in France, who is designer of famous Jean Patou Perfume . He produced his first collection in 1914. In 1919, he returned to the fashion industry and opened his own couture house.The House of Patou was created in 1925. It was in 1935, at the peak of the Depression, that the fragrance Joy was presented by House of Patou (designed by Henri Almeras).The floral scent of Joy would create an indelible imprint in the fashion industry decades later.
By 1982, Parfums Patou was built in London, Milan, Geneva, Australia, and Hong Kong with its own line of perfumes like Delices Women Perfume by Jean Patou (1940), 1000 Perfume by Jean Patou (1972), Patou Pour Homme Cologne by Jean Patou (1994).
From collection of this house Joy perfume gained recognition as the “Scent of the Century” in UK's Fifi Awards in 2000, outweighing long-time opponent, Chanel No.5. Following the success of various brand perfumes, the company introduced fragrances Amour Amour Women Perfume by Jean Patou (2003), Nacre (2001).
